Real Madrid join Man United in race for ‘next Luka Modric’ who prefers Premier League move

Real Madrid and Manchester United might engage in a trade dispute over Martin Baturina.

In addition to being dubbed “the next Luka Modric,” Baturina’s stellar play for Dinamo Zagreb has quickly placed him on the radar of the top teams in Europe.

Manchester United has also been connected to the 21-year-old Croatian prodigy, who possesses flawless technical talent to move the ball in confined places.

The Peoples Person recently shared an article stating that the Red Devils, whose scouts have been following “one of the jewels” of Croatian football for a while, have him “very high on their wish list.”

Now, a report suggests Luka Modric could potentially impact Baturina’s future.

According to Fichajes, the Croatian legend has recommended Madrid to sign the United target.

The 39-year-old wants Los Blancos to overtake other suitors in the race for his young Croatian teammate, who is emerging as his potential successor at Santiago Bernabeu thanks to his impressive vision and ball-striking ability.

The Croatia international, who is tied to the Zagreb-based club until 2028, has impressively registered five assists in just seven appearances in all competitions this season.

However, the Spanish outlet adds Madrid may face competition from United.

The Premier League giants are understood to be in the market for a creative midfielder who can “complement the work” of Bruno Fernandes. Baturina supposedly fits that profile “perfectly”.

The two European powerhouses were involved in a transfer battle for Leny Yoro during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

If their interest is indeed real, Madrid would be keen to not lose another highly-rated prospect to United. Further, it will be interesting to see what role Baturina’s idol Modric would play in this transfer battle
