Man United ‘turned down’ very Close January striker deal as ‘€100m’ goalkeeper linked to Old Trafford move

Man United transfer news with the latest rumours following the closure of the January window

Erik ten Hag and Sebastian Haller
Man United reportedly turned down the chance to sign Sebastien Haller.

Kobbie Mainoo scored a 97th-minute winner as United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 at Molineux in a Premier League classic on Thursday night.

The young midfielder curled his first Premier League goal past Jose Sa, just seconds after Pedro Neto appeared to have rescued a point for the hosts. United had led 2-0 and 3-1 before being pegged back in stoppage time.

However, if reports are to be believed, they could have added a new striker on deadline day in the shape of Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastien Haller. According to HITC, United were one of three Premier League clubs offered the chance to sign the former West Ham forward late in the window.

The report also claims that Chelsea and Newcastle United were approached by the striker’s entourage. Wolves had been linked with Haller on deadline day, as were Fulham, who eventually signed Armando Broja from the Stamford Bridge club on loan.

Ten Hag worked with Haller during his time at Ajax, where he scored 47 times in 66 appearances, leading the United boss to describe the Ivory Coast international as ‘phenomenal’.
