Man United ready to battle Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in race to sign £60m defender as former Manager backs him to shine at Old Trafford

Juventus defender Gleison Bremer is linked with a move to Old Trafford, while United also face a battle with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

United had a quiet January transfer window with zero new additions made to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

The Reds signed Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, Jonny Evans, Sofyan Amrabat (loan) and Sergio Reguillon (loan) last summer, with the latter since returning to Tottenham Hotspur and joining Brentford on loan.

Attention will soon be turning to what transfer business United will do this summer. Some of the deals may well depend on where the club finishes in the Premier League this season, with the quest for Champions League qualification still the priority.

According to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, United’s interest in Bremer has become “increasingly stronger” in recent months. As a result, it’s stated that the Old Trafford club could look to sign the centre-back this summer.

The report claims that Bremer is valued by Juve at between €60 million and €70 million (£51m-£60m). The defender recently signed a new contract with the Serie A club that keeps him in Turin until 2028, so it would likely take a sizable transfer fee to prise him away this summer.

Elsewhere, United have reportedly joined the race to sign Fenerbahce star Sebastian Szymanski.
