Man United plotting major swoop for Top Barcelona target as Potential Marcus Rashford replacement

Manchester United have joined Barcelona in the battle to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, as per reports.

Throughout the season’s first few games, Erik ten Hag’s team has had difficulty taking chances.

Though their pace and dribbling prowess have troubled defenses, his wingers—Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo in particular—have had impressive starts.

On the other hand, a Spanish rumor indicates that the Red Devils are arranging to bring in a big name player to cover their flanks.

Williams has been linked to Barca for a while, and during the just ended transfer window, he appeared to be their top target.

The Spain international, though, ultimately made the decision to play one more season with his childhood club.

According to Fichajes, the Blaugrana remain interested in the 22-year-old, who played a key role in Spain’s Euro triumph over the summer.

Known for his direct style of play and creative instincts, Williams, who registered an impressive 19 assists across all competitions last term, is capable of improving any team’s attack.

United appear to have taken note of his rise, as the Spanish outlet claims the Mancunians have entered the race for his services.

The Premier League outfit are “determined” to beat Barcelona to the signature of one of Spain’s most promising talents.

Williams has a contract until the summer of 2027 with Ernesto Valverde-led side. However, according to The Athletic, his deal includes a release clause in the region of €55 million.

It is added both European powerhouses are “willing to make a considerable financial effort” to sign the player from Bilbao. United are believed to be prepared to “go all out” and “make an offer” for the Spanish star.

Ineos flexed their muscles this summer by beating Real Madrid to Leny Yoro. Their popularity in Manchester would only increase if they manage to do the same to the other Spanish giants next year.
