Man United learn new price tag to sign England Euro 2024 star Marc Guehi

Throughout the European Championships, Marc Guehi was possibly England’s best and most reliable player.

He participated in all but one match as the Three Lions were eliminated at the last stage.

Given his lack of international experience and the fact that he only moved up to the starting lineup when Harry Maguire was forced to leave the tournament due to injury, many were taken aback by his impact.

The sole member of the Three Lions to be picked in Opta’s Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament was Guehi; nonetheless, he was left off of UEFA’s official starting eleven, with Kyle Walker surprisingly being selected in his place.

The center back’s talent has long been known to Palace supporters after he quietly made an impression at Selhurst Park during the previous three seasons, but a number of teams are now interested in signing him.

Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked, as have Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, with Guehi reportedly turning down a new contract offer from the Eagles.

But signing the 23-year-old will be far from easy, with The Times reporting that Palace have upped his valuation from £50million to over £70m.

This not only reflects his Euros heroics but is also because Chelsea are set bank 20 per cent of any profit made from his sale after they sold him to the South London club in 2021 for £18m.

It is this high asking price that saw Arsenal cool their interest and pursue Italy’s Riccardo Calafiori instead, while United have likewise looked at other targets, with Leny Yoro now set to sign from Lille.

Liverpool are still tracking Guehi however, and with just two years left on his contract, Palace may consider cashing in while his valuation is as high as it is.
