Man united finally gets green light to beat Chelsea in £60m transfer race for Outstanding Premier League Winger
Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is reported to be a summer transfer target of Manchester United and Chelsea
Michael Olise of Crystal Palace scores his team’s first goal during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park on May 6, 2024 in London, United Kingdom.
Manchester United can finally activate their summer transfer plans after making a decision on the future of Erik ten Hag.
Following a lengthy end-of-season review, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and other United chiefs have decided to keep Ten Hag as manager with talks over a new contract now set to begin.
Since the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, player such as Jarrad Branthwaite, Joao Neves, Michael Olise and Benjamin Sesko have been linked with the club.
The latter of those names has interest from other Premier League clubs but he has since made the decision to sign a new contract at RB Leipzig.
As for Branthwaite and Neves, both Everton and Benfica look set to demand significant fees to sanction exits with United likely needing to sell first before making new additions.
Olise meanwhile, is attracting significant interest from Chelsea and as such they have winning the battle for his signature for some time, however that may now change.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Blues held the advantage for Olise because United were yet to make a final decision on the future of Ten Hag.
However, with that matter now closed, United can finalise their transfer plans for the upcoming months with developments likely to arrive swiftly.
Crystal Palace have set £60million as their starting asking price with Chelsea keen to wrap up a deal before the end of the month, though United may have something to say about that.
While the west Londoners appeared slightly in front of United, that lead may have actually increased drastically with an ‘agreement’ in place between Chelsea and the 22-year-old winger.
According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Olise for a potential transfer from Palace.
If a contract length and financial terms have been agreed upon, United will need to work quickly in an attempt to catch up in the transfer race and they can now do that with the manager situation solved
