Manchester United face a pivotal fixture in a troubled campaign as they travel to rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

Zidane not interested in United as Ashworth wants Potter

The i report that Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane is ‘highly unlikely’ to accept an offer to become the next Manchester United manager.

They add that former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is a name they are ‘considering’ with potential new United sporting director Dan Ashworth said to be interested, with the pair previously having worked together at Brighton.

According to MEN Sport says: Zidane may have enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Real Madrid but his success with a team that included Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema is not a barometer of the challenge he would face at United.

Make no mistake that the Red Devils face a rebuild and Zidane’s CV doesn’t necessarily provide evidence that he could do this.

Graham Potter is an interesting one, as his success at Brighton would have made him a strong contender for the United job.

However, his struggles at Chelsea are not a great omen for the huge challenge he will face at Old Trafford
