BREAKING: NFL insider Reveals 4 Preferred Landing Spots for New York Jets Aaron Rodgers Trade 2025
Now, as the season winds down and Rodgers’ future in New York is in question? “Arrogant Aaron” seems to be attempting to flex his Jets muscle one
From the very start, the New York Jets allowed quarterback Aaron Rodgers far too much power.
The faded four-time NFL MVP helped dictate which players would be added to the roster, determined on his own when he’s show up for work, and hypocritically finger-pointed his way to “leading” the club to a dysfunction-plagued 4-12 record in 2024.
And now, as the season winds down and Rodgers’ future in New York is in question?
“Arrogant Aaron” seems to be attempting to flex his muscle one more time.
Acquired two seasons ago in a “blockbuster” trade with Green Bay that was supposed to fix everything, the Rodgers Era will be remembered for being as awful as any time in franchise history.
In 2023, he sustained a season-ending Achilles injury in the opening minutes of Week 1. His offseason made news because of his thoughts on drugs and politics and vacations, all along vowing to be the answer to the attention-hogging selfishness and oozy media leaks that are the Jets trademark.
Instead, of course, Rodgers embodied selfishness and took charge of the media movement by being the media movement.
His head coach (Robert Saleh) got fired in-season; Rodgers could’ve spoken up in support but did not. His general manager (Joe Douglas) was fired in-season, too … and Rodgers said nothing, even though he is in a sense the “de facto assistant GM” here.
Now we know that younger stars on the roster are unhappy here, and maybe unhappy taking orders from an unproductive 41-year-old player who is among the least productive Jets on this roster.
So superstar receiver Garrett Wilson is hinting that will request a trade. Defensive back D.J. Reed has announced publicly that he wants out. And Aaron?
Rodgers has been noncommittal and cryptic about his playing future, speaking in riddles, we’ve always assumed, in part because he enjoys the attention and the drama and the creation of the myth that he’s simply more clever than everybody else.
But now there is this: According to a report, there are four teams that Rodgers would be willing to play for in a move away (via trade or otherwise): The Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders or Tennessee Titans.
“If the Jets keep him around, he will try to right the ship and give it one last go, but he believes he would be better used and be a better fit in Cleveland, Indianapolis or Tennessee, and he also would be interested in heading to Las Vegas,” the source report says, quoting a source.
“That is where his mindset is at as he wants to play again, and he doesn’t believe that the Jets are the team that will take him to the promised land.”
We will frankly treat the Daily Mail report as rumor and gossip as we are dubious about that outlet having a direct pipeline into the Rodgers camp. (We also wonder if a real source actually says corny things like “the promised land.”)
But the Browns do have needs as they are saddled with Deshaun Watson and his contract.
The Titans have Will Levis, but we’re not sure he’s inferior to Rodgers, who happens to own a home in the Nashville area.
The Raiders have young Aiden O’Connell and, like Cleveland, a shot at a top-eight pick in the April NFL Draft. (The Browns and Titans both have a chance at a top-three pick.)
The Colts have former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson, who is unproven but just 22.
In short, all of this could simply be another Rodgers power play, or another Rodgers-related fantasy
From that source: “It has obviously not worked with the Jets and there is no reason to believe that it would work next year, a third year with the Jets is not going to be a charm and both the team and Aaron will likely move on from each other.”
Again … “a third year’s not the charm”? Do people really talk like that?
Maybe, in the dysfunctional football world of Aaron Rodgers, they do
