BREAKING: insider reveals Saints Mickey Loomis set to replace Derek Carr with 36-TD QB in 2025 offseason

The New Orleans Saints absolutely dominated their first two games of the season — putting up over 40 points in back-to-back blowout wins to start the new year — and then the wheels fell off completely.

Now with just two games left to go in the 2024 campaign, the Saints have only added one more victory since those two opening wins, have fired their head coach and might be moving on from their starting QB in 2025.

While Derek Carr is currently out for the year with a broken hand, he wasn’t exactly flawless in the games he started for New Orleans.

Some weeks, the former Raiders’ QB would look great, hitting receivers in tight windows and connecting with them in stride for perfect touchdown bombs.

Others, he would make mistake after mistake, turning the ball over and looking flustered while under center.

He finished the 2024 season with 2,145 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions with a QB rating of 101.0. While his QB rating is one of the highest of his career, that number doesn’t paint the entire picture.

But there’s a real chance — even with a year remaining on his contract — the new coaching staff will want to move on from Carr and start fresh at the QB position.

Some believe 5th-round pick Spencer Rattler could be the answer as the team’s franchise passer, but Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder thinks New Orleans is going to draft an underrated QB of the 2025 class who could end up replacing Carr.

Holder believes the New Orleans Saints will draft Clemson QB Cade Klubnik, who has thrown for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions this season
