Besiktas open talks to seal surprise move for outgoing 28-year-old Man United star

Turkish giants, Besiktas, are keen on securing the services of outgoing Manchester United star attacker Anthony Martial.

Their transfer talks with the 28-year-old have already started. Gokmen Ozcan, a journalist, claims this.

When Anthony Martial announced his departure from Manchester United this summer, his nine-year relationship officially ended last month. The French striker is currently searching for his possible next stop.

Despite his recent string of injuries, Martial is still a sought-after addition for many teams. Two Ligue 1 teams, Lyon and Marseille, have also expressed interest in signing him this summer.

In his nine years with the squad, the French international played 317 games and scored 90 goals, but it’s safe to conclude that his abilities have declined.

Martial has only made 13 Premier League appearances this season and has only scored one goal due to his three seasons of injury troubles.

Martial, the most expensive teenager in the world at the time, left Monaco to join the Red Devils in 2015 for a fee of £44.5 million.

Since then, he has experienced some highlights at Old Trafford, including two FA Cup victories, a Carabao Cup, and a Europa League victory.

Since his injury and form struggles started, the 28-year-old started his loan stint at Sevilla in the 2021–22 campaign. Martial couldn’t do much at Sevilla either, making just 12 appearances for the club and scoring one goal.

Martial, who hasn’t played since December, is currently looking for a new place to call home where he can get back to full fitness and start seeing regular action to try and realise his true potential.
