Chelsea get major boost in bid to sign Jadon Sancho on transfer deadline day -Report

Chelsea’s chances of acquiring Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on the day of the transfer deadline have significantly increased.

After deciding that Raheem Sterling was surplus to requirements, the Blues are looking to acquire another winger.

Meanwhile, Mykhailo Mudryk’s future is unclear after manager Enzo Maresca chastised him once more after a subpar performance against Wolves last weekend.

While Sancho and United manager Erik ten Hag declared a truce earlier in the summer, the Red Devils star hasn’t played since Sancho missed a penalty in the Community Shield shootout against Manchester City.

The England international will hope a move to London to the club he supported as a boy will reignite a career that has stalled badly since he opted to join United from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.

Chelsea had been facing competition from Juventus for the signing of the 24-year-old from Juventus but the Italian giants have shelved their interest for now.

He said: ‘The only thing I can say is the ones who are going to get minutes are the ones who I think can help us.

‘It’s not just Raheem [Sterling]. It’s all the players who are training apart.

‘The moment the transfer window closes, they are not going to get minutes.’
