REPORT: Man United ‘Had Scouts’ Watching £43M Bundesliga Star On Saturday As They Join Premier League Rivals In Transfer Race

Manchester United “had scouts” in the stands to watch Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho play against Bayern Munich at the weekend, according to TBRFootball.

As per reports Man United scout was at the Allianz Arena on Saturday specifically to see the Ecuadorian international in action.

United have been linked with several Bayern Munich players but it is believed that representatives were sent to assess the performance of Pacho.

The centre-back is left-footed, which would suggest that he is being eyed as potential cover for Lisandro Martinez.

With Martinez having struggled with injury problems during his second season at Old Trafford, it is not a complete surprise that United are weighing up a move for someone like Pacho.

Other Premier League clubs are interested in the player. it is also reported that Liverpool also sent someone to watch Pacho versus Bayern Munich.

The Reds have been linked with the 22-year-old in the German media over the past month or so.

It has been claimed that both the Merseysiders and Arsenal have made enquiries about the centre-half’s availability recently.

It will cost United a sizeable amount to sign Pacho
Frankfurt has slapped an asking price in the region of €50m (£43m) to €60m (£51m) on the player so a lot may depend on whether United regard Pacho as a top target.

The Manchester club have made strengthening the centre of defence one of their highest priorities for the summer transfer window but other options have also been considered.

Over the weekend, it was reported that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. With a price tag in the region of £55m, the England international would cost slightly more than Pacho.
