Rashford, Evans, Mount – Manchester United injury news and return dates before Everton

Manchester United have been handed a much-needed injury boost as they get ready to welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon (12.30pm).

Marcus Rashford has trained in the build-up at Carrington, despite being withdrawn after 70 minutes in the club’s preceding 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Veteran defender Jonny Evans was also taken off in that game as a precaution. Speaking post-match, Erik ten Hag revealed the duo had been nursing fitness concerns.

United were missing eight first-team squad members against City. Added to Rashford and Evans, they could have, potentially, been looking at double-figure absentees for the Everton game – with Ten Hag’s players desperate for a win to revive their fading Champions League ambitions.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Possible return date: March 9 vs Everton (H)

What Ten Hag has said: “I don’t know in this moment what the diagnosis is. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”

Harry Maguire
Injury: Unspecified

Possible return date: March 9 vs Everton (H)

What Ten Hag has said: “We do it [the Manchester derby] with the squad [from Nottingham Forest].”

Jonny Evans
Injury: Unspecified

Predicted return date: March 9 vs Everton (H)

What Ten Hag has said: “We had two players on the pitch, they were not 100 per cent, Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford, and they gave everything, as the whole team gave everything. I can’t tell you [if they will miss matches]. Finally they had to come off, but I [would have] preferred to keep them.

Lisandro Martinez
Injury: Knee

Return date: TBC

What Ten Hag has said: “It’s a setback, of course. You see his contribution to the team when he’s playing. Apart from his technical skills, he also brings mentality into the team, but it’s a big setback. He’s disappointed, but he’s a fighter, he will be back and he will be back stronger.”

Luke Shaw
Injury: Unspecified

Return date: TBC

What Ten Hag has said: “Was precaution, Luke Shaw, he gave some messages about complaints. We know his history with too many injuries and we couldn’t go into the risk. [It was a] very important game, but we can’t miss him for six weeks.”

Marcus Rashford
Injury: Unspecified

Predicted return date: March 9 vs Everton (H). Rashford was spotted training on Wednesday.

What Ten Hag has said: “He had problems with an injury. So he fought for 70 minutes.”
