Pundit says ‘wonderful’ Chelsea target would ‘instantly improve’ Man United -Report

Louis Saha says a long-term Chelsea transfer target would ‘instantly improve’ a Manchester United side currently in crisis.

Despite winning the FA Cup, United’s 2024–25 campaign was mainly lackluster last year.

They have only won two of their six Premier League games, dropping them to 13th place in the standings.

After Tottenham humiliated the Red Devils last weekend, there was much conjecture about manager Erik ten Hag’s future.

After losing to Spurs, Manchester United avoided the temptation to fire the Dutchman, but they may still name a new manager if they don’t get better in their next two games—against Porto on Thursday and Aston Villa on Sunday.

This season, United has been especially feeble up front, scoring just five goals in six games, three of which came in a single encounter.

‘It would be a difficult signing to make, but I think Victor Osimhen is exactly the type of striker Manchester United need,’ he told CryptoCasinosUK.

‘I don’t know if it’s a realistic option because he is on loan at Galatasaray, but if you’re talking about a proven goal scorer with pedigree, he is the man.

‘He would instantly improve the team. If you signed Osimhen, you’re not signing potential. You know exactly what he is going to give you.

‘A striker like Osimhen is exactly the kind of signing that Manchester United need to make. If it takes a lot of money, and it will to sign Osimhen, you go and do it.

‘I think that Manchester United should have broken the bank and signed Harry Kane two seasons ago.

‘He’s a player that you should be willing to break the bank for because you know that he will score at least 30 goals and he’s a wonderful professional for the next generation to learn from.

‘I’m not here to give the Manchester United board a lesson in who to sign, and I know it’s a new team since then, but if you want to take the club on an upward trajectory, if you want to win the Premier League, then you need a striker with the profile of Kane or Osimhen.’

Chelsea have been repeatedly linked with Osimhen in recent years and had a delegation in Naples on transfer deadline day in a bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

But a move collapsed and Osimhen also snubbed a switch to Saudi Arabia before joining Turkish club Galatasaray on loan for the rest of the season.

Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli and starred in their memorable Serie A title win in 2022-23, but has left after falling out with manager Antonio Conte
