Personal terms agreed! – Man Utd in contact with £60m Fulham midfield star representatives to sign him in January transfer window amid strong Arsenal links

Manchester United have spoken to the representatives of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha ahead of the January transfer window.

United have struggled to find the right players in midfield over the years.

Paul Pogba, Fred, Donny van de Beek, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, the list goes on.

United have thrown plenty of darts at the board but have yet to really hit the bullseye outside of Bruno Fernandes.

Mount has suffered a slow start at United whilst Amrabat is yet to show that he can be United’s long-term answer, meaning more targets will be in mind.

Manchester United targeting Joao Palhinha again

It’s stated that Palhinha’s representatives have now had conversations with Arsenal and Liverpool as well as United.

Fulham are allegedly expecting a fee of around £60million for Palhinha having handed him a new contract in September.

The 28-year-old has proven himself well in the Premier League and would bring a calming influence in front of United’s back four.

Beating Arsenal and Liverpool won’t be easy but many United fans would surely love to see a player like Palhinha at the base of Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

One player who would surely be happy with Palhinha arriving at Old Trafford would be Bruno Fernandes.

Palhinha and Bruno briefly played together at Sporting before Palhinha was farmed out on loan to Braga.

By the time Palhinha returned, Bruno had been sold to United, but the pair continue to feature together in the Portugal national team setup.

Palhinha and Bruno have played 19 times together for Portugal, losing just twice whilst winning their last six games in a row as starters together.

That understanding could really help United’s midfield and having shown an interest over the summer – and with Palhinha keen on the move – this potential transfer could be just what United need, if the finances can be worked out
