Erik ten Hag looks set to allow Jadon Sancho to return to Borussia Dortmund on loan after a several-month standoff with the winger as Manchester United line up potential January arrivals.

Jadon Sancho is poised to complete a surprise return to Borussia Dortmund on loan less than three years after Manchester United paid the German club £73million for his signature.

A deal between the clubs has been agreed to take United winger Sancho back to the Signal Iduna Park until the end of the season, ending his disruptive standoff with boss Erik ten Hag.

United are looking to Germany for potential new additions to their squad, with talks ongoing with RB Leipzig over the prospect of signing ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner on loan – though it appears Tottenham are going to muscle in to sign the forward instead.

Bayern Munich’s Eric Choupo-Moting – another ex-Premier League star with Stoke City – is also on United’s radar, with the 34-year-old striker open to a switch back to England
