Man Utd fans gave their Honest verdict on Chido Obi performance vs Brentford in 4-3 Defeat
Manchester United fans dropped their verdict on Chido Obi-Martin after the player’s display for Ruben Amorim’s men against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils have endured a disastrous 2024-25 Premier League season and Manchester United languish in 15th place ahead of the Brentford match.
Ruben Amorim’s side’s last outing in the Premier League came in April and United snatched a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last Sunday.
Following United’s result against Bournemouth, the Red Devils travelled to Spain and United picked up a major win in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals
Chido arrived at United in 2024 after he left Arsenal’s youth academy set-up and the Red Devils striker has been securing important first-team minutes this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Brentford match, Amorim said (via BBC Sport): “We need to focus a lot on our young players
“For me, it is not a massive game for Chido. I know it’s important for Chido, but I don’t want a lot of pressure on Chido.”
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, pointed out that Chido lacked the essential “service” that he needed against Brentford on Sunday.
“Chido is on some graveyard shift. No service,” one Red Devils supporter said.
Another X user wrote: “Someone give Chido Obi some service.”
Somebody else commented: “Chido Obi [is] now witnessing what Rasmus has faced majority of the season… Zero service outside [of] Bruno [Fernandes].”
A fourth United fan tweeted: “We need service to Chido, he will deliver!”
“Chido has gotten no service,” another posted
While a sixth suggested: “Chido Obi-Martin getting a true taste of what it’s like for current Man Utd strikers… gross lack of service, lack of creativity from midfield. This is why I haven’t put even a little blame on Rasmus Hojlund.”
“Chido didn’t stand a chance today without Bruno,” somebody else argued.
And an eighth added: “Look at Chido going into good spaces but no Bruno to pick him out.”
