Man Utd enter race to sign £43m Serie A star with Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen to bring him to Old Trafford

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United have joined Chelsea and Manchester City in the race to sign Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini this summer.

Scalvini is one of the best young centre-backs in Serie A and he could pursue a bigger challenge at the end of the season.

Chelsea and Man City are admirers of him, but Fichajes claim that the race has taken an interesting turn with Man Utd joining them.

Fichajes have not mentioned the price tag for his potential exit, but it has been previously reported that he could be available for £43 million.

Man City and Chelsea are also keen on him, but United could have an edge, having previously signed Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund from the Italian club
