Man United targets Jarrad Branthwaite and Marc Guehi given huge asking prices

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi are both being linked with big moves this summer, with both likely to cost interested parties at least £50m.

Manchester United are interested in both impressive defenders, while Liverpool have also been touted as suitors for England international Guehi.

Both the Toffees and the Eagles will be keen to keep hold of their young stars, but are preparing to receive significant bids for them and will not let them leave cheaply.

The Telegraph reports that both defenders are expected to move for over £50m, if indeed they do complete transfers this summer.

Earlier reports suggested Everton could be looking for closer to £100m for their young superstar, but that might be a touch ambitious.

Branthwaite’s contract at Goodison Park runs until 2027, while Guehi’s deal at Selhurst Park expires in 2026, so neither club is under intense pressure to sell in the next transfer window.

Palace are likely to receive plenty of interest in other star players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze and may be tempted to cash in on Guehi if it means they are more likely to keep hold of their forward players.

Guehi and Branthwaite are both potential Manchester United signings, while they are also competing for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad this summer.

The 23-year-old Palace star has been a regular in Three Lions squads, winning nine caps under Southgate, but he is out of action with a knee injury ahead of the huge tournament this summer.

Branthwaite was called up to the international squad for the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium over the last week but did not get onto the field, which is not a good sign for his chances of summer involvement
