Man United stance on making Ruud van Nistelrooy their new manager Revealed -Report
If Manchester United decides to Make a sudden change, Ruud van Nistelrooy is regarded as a “viable short-term option” to replace Erik ten Hag.
Following their dreadful loss to Tottenham on Sunday—their second straight 3-0 home loss following their demolition by Liverpool four weeks prior—Ten Hag is coming under increasing pressure.
For the time being, Ten Hag is still supported by the club’s administration, and he will continue to be in charge of the matches this week against Porto and Aston Villa.
However, with worry running rampant within the team, the Dutchman is in desperate need of a positive response.
If things don’t get better quickly, United believes they have a temporary chance to take over with club legend van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford this summer, working alongside ten Hag as his countryman’s assistant manager.
The former striker had previously served as PSV Eindhoven head coach, resigning form that post at the end of the 2022-23 season after he felt unsatisfied with the level of support he received from the board.
ESPN report United’s hierarchy, led by CEO Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth, believe they are well-prepared for any changes with van Nistelrooy viewed as a possible short-term option ready to step in.

The 48-year-old would also have the support of his fellow assistant Rene Hake, who left his role as head coach at Go Ahead Eagles to join ten Hag’s staff in the summer.
Van Nistelrooy spent five years at United as a player, scoring 150 goals in 219 appearances for the club.
United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford spoke to a number of different managers in the summer before sticking with ten Hag, triggering a contract extension to keep him at Old Trafford.
Thomas Tuchel was among those interviewed for the role with Gareth Southgate also thought to be admired.
United face trips to Porto and Villa this week before October’s international break.
