Man united receive Tripple injury boost as Erik ten Hag provides injury update ahead of Chelsea match

Man United have been given some good news on the injury front, ahead of a couple of massive games.

Manchester United Football Club have been hit hard by the injury bug this season.

The Old Trafford club have refused to use it as an excuse, during a season where it feels like many sides have been without their better players for large periods of time.

Erik ten Hag will be feeling the pressure ahead of yet another massive week. The Red Devils take on Chelsea this Thursday, before Liverpool visit Old Trafford again at the weekend.

Ahead of the Stamford Bridge clash, we were given some unfortunate news with both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof ruled out for about a month. Thankfully, it’s not all doom and gloom…

United have also been given a triple injury boost, with Ten Hag confirming a trio of defenders are back out on the training pitch.

All of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans have returned to training over the last couple of days. After losing the aforementioned pair, it’s crucial these guys now stay fit for the remainder of the season…

Check out what Ten Hag had to say on the injury news here:
“[There are] no more issues,” Ten Hag told the media, including ManUtd.com. “In the frontline and in midfield, we are okay. We have options there.

“In the backline, we have a lack of options but the good thing is, this afternoon, back in training are Rapha Varane and Jonny Evans, and Harry Maguire was already back in training yesterday.”

I was fearing for Willy Kambwala 24 hours ago. I have to be honest. I assumed he was set to be thrown straight in at the deep end, though thankfully, that now may not happen as I don’t think he’s quite ready for that.

Ten Hag usually prefers one left footer and one right footer back there, but I firmly believe the Reds just have to play their best team here.

Go with Maguire and Varane. Both have been playing well of late. Against an improving Chelsea side, we’re going to need our top performers out there.

Hopefully, these guys are feeling well enough to give us at least 60-70 minutes, putting United into a strong position before calling on Evans and/or Kambwala off the bench.
