Man United receive massive boost as they ‘prepare huge offer’ for Casemiro replacement who dreams of playing at Old Trafford

Casemiro may be sold this summer and Man United have reportedly outlined which player they want to replace him with.

Manchester United will reportedly submit an offer for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana in the early stages of the transfer window.

The future of Casemiro at United is unclear with Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to be more ruthless when it comes to transfers and contracts under his regime. The Brazilian signed a bumper five-year deal upon his 2022 arrival but has underwhelmed this season.

With United battling Premier League Profit & Sustainability Rules, Ratcliffe will be looking to cut costs to create room for arrivals. Raphael Varane is out of contract this summer with a renewal currently not yet offered while United are set to listen to offers for Antony.

Meanwhile, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has left the door open for a return for 32-year-old Christian Eriksen. Erik ten Hag is targeting central midfield as an area of improvement this summer and Onana has been frequently linked as a potential recruit.

Now, SPORT says United are readying an offer for when the summer transfer window opens. Arsenal are also said to be pulling together an offer, with Everton keen to hold out for £50m on their player.

That would price out Barcelona, who are said to be tracking Onana’s situation. The Spanish champions wish to meet at around £35m although the Toffees, struggling with Financial Fair Play constraints, are not prepared to cede ground, which could give United and Arsenal an advantage.

A move from Ratcliffe may depend on who is able to be sold with other areas of the squad needing attention. With Anthony Martial set to leave at the end of his contract this summer, United are anticipated to look at attacking support for Rasmus Hojlund.
