Man United receive huge transfer blow in pursuit of Bayern Munich star following personal terms agreed
Due to reports that the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham may not go through, Manchester United’s efforts to sign Noussair Mazraoui have suffered a setback.
Mazraoui is a player that the Red Devils would love to sign from Bayern Munich, but the agreement is contingent on them selling Wan-Bissaka to the west ham.
The right-back, who is thought to be valued at £18 million by United, is reportedly not too keen on the move, and the transfer is stalling because of his wage demands.
However, West Ham is reportedly willing to pay that amount. The Telegraph claims that, in his desperation to find a replacement right-back, Newcastle United and England player Kieran Trippier has drawn the notice of new boss Julen Lopetegui.
It is not known whether the 33-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, is available for sale, though there has been interest from Saudi Pro League sides.
Newcastle already have a right-back ready to replace the Three Lions veteran in the form of Tino Livramento, though Trippier’s experience and leadership is greatly valued by manager Eddie Howe.
Wan-Bissaka is still greatly admired by West Ham, as is Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, but with a deal looking hard to pull off before the start of the season next week, the transfer could be dead in the water.
Wan-Bissaka has just one year left on his United deal and the cub would rather cash-in this summer than lose him for nothing in 2025.
There is interest in the defender from Inter Milan which could resurrect a move for Mazraoui but the Italian giants want a swap deal with Denzel Dumfries going the other way.
Erik ten Hag’s side like Dumfries and wouldn’t be opposed to a swap but Mazraoui is the priority, with United hopeful of buying him and Bayern teammate Matthijs de Ligt.
The German giants have rejected one offer for both defenders, informing United that they want £64m for the pair.
