Man United re-open talks to sign Everton star after submitting £60m bid in shock transfer twist

The Premier League giants are submitting a new bid this week of £60million, which is believed to include add-ons.

Football Insider has been informed by sources that United is optimistic Everton will accept this, even though the Merseyside club turned down earlier offers this summer.

The 20-time winners saw their first offer of £35 million plus add-ons turned down, and their second offer of £50 million was also turned down.

The 21-year-old is valued at approximately £80 million by Everton this summer, despite interest from teams like Manchester United and Manchester City.

The central defender and United had previously in the transfer window agreed to personal terms on a £160,000-per-week contract, according to Football Insider.

Jarrad Branthwaite will join Man United’s expanding group of defenders. Leny Yoro is one of the defensive possibilities Erik ten Hag signed this summer in an attempt to strengthen his defense.

Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly travelling to England today in a bid to complete his expected transfer to Old Trafford.

Despite those transfers, the club still wants to add Branthwaite to their ranks before the deadline day.

The England international has been a top target for the club all summer, and his signing would provide three quality options for Ten Hag this season.

The possibility of three new central defenders does bring the futures of some current Man United players into question
