Man United prepared to agree £8.5million-a-year contract for signing Real Madrid forward

Manchester United are looking to reinforce their strike-force in the summer and as per reports, they are intent on signing Joselu.

The Spanish international’s current deal with Real Madrid will expire next month and United are prepared to offer lucrative terms to hire him.

According to Spanish source, Fichajes, Man Utd are willing to agree a two year contract worth £8.5million (10 million euros) to sign Joselu.

The media outlet have mentioned that the 34-year-old would be able to earn 5 million euros per year and the offer represents a huge increase on his current salary.

The veteran striker moved to the Bernabeu last year in order to replace Karim Benzema. He has rarely started under Carlo Ancelotti but has still made important contributions to the squad.

The former Stoke City forward has so far started 15 games in the La Liga and found the net on 10 occasions.

He made 2 starts in the Copa del Rey and netted as many goals. Most importantly, he has scored 5 goals in just 2 starts in the UEFA Champions League.

In the CL semi final against Bayern, when Madrid were on the brink of elimination, Joselu arrived, featured for only 9 minutes, and scored a brace to win the tie for the Los Blancos.

An experienced forward like the Spaniard would strengthen the striking department at Old Trafford but like Ronaldo and Cavani, he will also be a short-term solution
