Man United now willing to submit £55m offer to sign Top Premier League star praised by Ruud van Nistelrooy – report
Manchester United could make a third offer to sign defender Jarrad Branthwaite following Everton’s failed takeover, according to The Telegraph.
The England international is valued at £75 million by the Toffees, and the Red Devils have made two bids of £45 million and £50 million, respectively.
It was recently claimed that Everton’s £50 million deal with Aston Villa for Amadou Onana had blocked the door for United to sign Branthwaite.
Nevertheless, because to worries over the amount of debt, billionaire Dan Friedkin called off an Everton buyout, significantly altering the situation.
The Red Devils, who desperately need money, may now be enticed to submit a new offer of about £55 million to see how strong the Merseyside team is. United gave the Branthwaite chase a boost.
The Toffees are unwilling to back down from their demands for Branthwaite, and their stance only solidified following Aston Villa’s agreement to sign Onana
However, their situation has completely changed with Friedkin’s decision to pull out from buying the club. This could force them into cashing in on Branthwaite.
It is quite clear from the start that United are unlikely to meet the £75m asking price. They could now propose to pay £50m up front with £5m in add-ons.
Branthwaite has already agreed personal terms over a contract worth £160,000 per week and a move could be fairly straightforward if a transfer fee is agreed.
United will obviously need to compensate his arrival with player sales. There is a possibility that both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire could be sold this summer
