Man United now very interested in signing €50m outstanding PSG winger

Manchester United are very interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Xavi Simons on loan, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

The Red Devils had a brilliant end to the 2023/24 season as they beat arch-rivals Manchester City to the FA Cup title. Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho were on the scoresheet.

United will now be aiming to reinforce the squad for next season. Mundo Deportivo claim that the club are determined to sign Simons on a season-long loan from Les Parisiens.

However, the Dutchman has no desire to move to the Premier League. He is currently buying his time as he looks to secure a temporary deal with his former club Barcelona.

Simons was successful on either wing for the Bundesliga giants. He also made three goal contributions from the attacking midfield role under manager Marco Rose.

He would be a fantastic acquisition on loan, considering Les Parisiens don’t want to sell him for now.

Despite the positives, it appears the forward does not wish to join any club other than Barcelona. He is expected to prioritise a homecoming with the La Liga giants.

United are said to be very keen on landing his signature, but the hierarchy should not be dragged into a transfer saga whereby they could be waiting for weeks without any outcome.

There are plenty of other young and emerging wingers in the transfer market. PSV’s Johan Bakayoko and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams are similarly talented and have huge potential
