Man United ‘learn’ surprise transfer fee for AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez as free transfer ‘talks’ open for January move
According to sources from Italy, Manchester United would pay little over £40 million for the left-back Theo Hernandez, who plays for AC Milan and France.
Hernandez has been valued by the Italian powerhouses at €50 million (£41.3 million), according to Calciomercato.
According to reports, Milan may try to cash in this January as his future at the San Siro is uncertain.
According to the Italian article, United and Real Madrid are now vying for his services because of his friendship with the I Rossoneri.
With Alphonso Davies on their radar, Los Blancos are reportedly eager to sign a quality left-back.
United reportedly expressed interest in Hernandez due of Luke Shaw’s ongoing injury problems. Davies is reportedly also under consideration, with his future at Bayern Munich still up in the air.
Hernandez’s contract at San Siro expires in 2026, meaning Milan are in a good position to negotiate a deal. Elsewhere, United and Barcelona are preparing to lock horns for Lille striker Jonathan David.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Reds fancied the Canadian last summer and could reignite their interest in him when the January transfer window openers. However, the report from Spain suggests Barca are looking to open talks over a free transfer.
David can seal a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of France in the new year, and there is currently no sign that he will commit his future to Lille.
