Man United Leading Race to sign £66m Napoli striker as they ‘prepare’ fresh transfer bid with surprise Dusan Vlahovic opportunity

Manchester United are reportedly leading Premier League clubs in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in January

Man United has reportedly joined Juventus and PSG in planning bids for Osimhen in advance of the winter transfer window, according to Il Mattino.

The striker from Nigeria is currently on loan at Galatasaray after his summer transfer from Naples fell through.

Under Antonio Conte, Osimhen was certain he would not play, which compelled him to relocate to Turkey, where their transfer window is longer.

The agreement said that the striker would join Galatasaray for the season, but it also contained a break clause that would allow him to quit his current temporary club and seek a deal if one of ten unknown clubs approached Napoli for his services permanently in January.

The Serbian striker bagged 16 goals in 33 Serie A appearances last season and has nine in 17 matches this campaign across all competitions. However, he has not scored in the league since a thrilling 4-4 draw with Inter in October.

It is believed the 24-year-old, who joined from Fiorentina in January 2022, is Serie A’s best paid player. But, with money tight in Turin, Juve could be forced to sell if he does not agree to lower his terms at the club.

It is understood United are interested in Vlahovic should he become available to add much needed firepower to the squad.
