Man United identify two top targets to bolster key areas with Both players open to Old Trafford move

Manchester United have identified Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, although it will be challenging to sign either of those strikers.

According to Give Me Sport, Manchester United are set to try their luck with either Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen in the summer.

The Red Devils are eager to strengthen their frontline with a top-draw striker, although they face challenges in pursuing either of their top targets for the position.

Ruben Amorim has a challenging period ahead, not only to keep the club relevant in all competitions but also to build the squad to a good level. There are many problems in his Manchester United side, as the current players have found it challenging to adapt to the new manager’s ideas.

There is plenty of optimism that this side will improve under Amorim, who would prefer a strong summer transfer window. Several positions need strengthening, especially the centre-forward role.

The Portuguese tactician does view a top-draw striker as a priority, with names like Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen seen as top targets.

Sporting CP are reportedly ready to reduce Gyokeres’s asking price, which would be a big boost for Amorim’s chances of landing the Swede. He is also considered a priority, given that the manager has worked with him in Portugal and believes he knows the system’s way of playing.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has a reduced release clause in his contract at Napoli, and he has continued to shine while on loan at Galatasaray. The Nigerian international is expected to make a big move in the summer, and in the past, he had shown positive signs of signing for Manchester United, although other teams are angling for a move for the striker.

There are financial constraints on Manchester United’s spending that also involve offering big wages to players.

They have already made the first moves to curb their bill with the departure of Marcus Rashford, and should he move out permanently, the Red Devils will have significant space in the wage bracket.

Osimhen and Gyokeres will demand a big contract, which will be challenging for INEOS.
