Man United identify ‘€50m Casemiro upgrade’ who’s keen on Old Trafford move amid strong Napoli links
Manchester United wants to strengthen its defensive midfield position this summer in response to Brazilian star Casemiro’s lackluster play the previous campaign.
Manchester United is getting close to finalizing a deal for the £45 million-rated PSG player after submitting an official bid for the Uruguayan international.
But Napoli, led by Antonio Conte, has surfaced as a possible suitor as the English team tries to work out the fine print.
PSG is attempting to lower Victor Osimhen’s €130 million release clause by making players available through trades in order to get the outstanding player from Napoli.
The Serie A club rejected PSG’s offer of Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Rather, GdS asserts that Ugarte is ‘near’ to being wanted by Napoli.
Another Italian publication Corriere dello Sport back up the claim revealing PSG need to make room to sign Luis Campos’ favourite, Osimhen.
The Ligue 1 club are willing to offer Randal Kolo Muani, Soler and Mukiele but Napoli want Ugarte or Kang-in Lee. CorSport add that the former is ‘promised’ to Manchester United whilst PSG won’t sell the latter.
The South American play breaker was on international duty with Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay in the recently concluded Copa America in which they finished third. He started all six matches in the tournament and controlled the game exceptionally from the base of midfield.
Man Utd need a profile like the 23-year-old’s to partner with Kobbie Mainoo in the center of the park. Luis Enrique doesn’t seem to fancy the former Sporting midfielder and this presents the Red Devils with the perfect opportunity to snap him up.
£45m for Ugarte will look like a bargain, should he live up to his potential and let’s hope we can get this deal over the line soon.
