Man United hold talks to finally sign £85million Portuguese star as possible Varane Replacement

Antonio Silva has been on the radar of Man Utd for a long time and as per the latest reports, they are now in talks to finally sign him.

Back in October last year, Jornal de Noticias, revealed the Red Devils are preparing a strong offer to lure the Benfica central defender.

In December 2023, O Jogo reported that Man Utd would be willing to activate the £85million release clause to sign Silva.

Earlier this month, another famous Portuguese source in the form of Record claimed that the Seleccao star could move to Old Trafford.

More recently, as per an exclusive story covered by Caught Offside, Man Utd have held talks to finally sign Antonio Silva from the Eagles.

Even the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, who can offer CL football, have made contact to lure the 20-year-old center back.

Madrid and PSG are also following but the player would prefer to move to a top side in the Premier League.

It is stated that majority of the clubs would not be prepared to pay the £85million clause to secure his signing.

Silva featured in 30 games in the recently concluded Liga Nos campaign and helped Benfica keep 15 clean sheets.
