Man United have 25-year old Wolves striker in their sights ‘this summer’ as they prepare £60m bid

Man United could make a move to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer.

It is well documented that Manchester United are planning on providing Rasmus Hojlund some extra help in the striker role this season.

Anthony Martial is leaving on a free transfer, leaving the Red Devils with no choice but to sign a striker of some description.

Several names have already been linked with filling the void, with United looking set to dip their toes in to the market, assuming the manager doesn’t believe Joe Hugill is quite ready to make that jump up to the first-team.

It’s The Mirror with the latest information in regard to the Reds’ striker search, as they throw Matheus Cunha’s name into the mix.

According to the story, United are said to have the 25-year-old striker ‘in their sights’ this summer, as Old Trafford scouts ‘consistently tracked’ the £60m-rated star last season.

Cunha is said to be ‘high’ on United’s list of targets to replace the aforementioned Martial, after starring for Wolves during his debut season in the Premier League.

The man from Brazil scored 14 goals in all competitions, while tacking on 8 assists for his teammates.

The Mirror add that Cunha perfectly fits the type of play Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to attract – aggressive, dynamic and ambitious.

Understandably, Wolves are looking to resist any approaches for one of their star players, though in the event they’re forced into a sale, they’ll be looking to profit heavily on the £44m they invested in Cunha just last summer.
