Man United ‘get’ exciting answer from Inter Milan on £26m superstar defender transfer

The defender has been linked with a switch to Man United for some time and this summer might be the window the player exits Inter

Inter have reportedly priced defender Denzel Dumfries at a respectable £26m amid links with Manchester United.

Right-back is one of four areas Erik ten Hag will look to strengthen this summer if he remains in the job amid mounting pressure. United have won just one of their past eight league games with some players coming in for heavy criticism.

The club will listen to offers for all-but-four players – Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo – this summer, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

The midfielder became the youngest scorer in Sunderland and League Cup history when he netted against Crewe Alexandra in August. Rigg is currently on a scholarship deal, being unable to sign a professional contract until June when he turns 17.

The Championship club are hoping the teenager stays after discussions over a full deal but they are expecting interest from Premier League clubs after his birthday
