Man United considering a ‘Surprise’ move for Aston Villa midfielder star Midfielder this summer

Manchester united are facing a serious task when managing their midfield options this summer.

Brazilian star Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian and Christian Eriksen is a target for Galatasaray.

Sofyan Amrabat’s loan deal has expired and it remains to be seen whether he will be signed permanently.

Hence, it is sensible for Man Utd to hunt for a new midfielder in the upcoming months.

Douglas Luiz joined Aston Villa from Manchester City in 2019 and has since been a vital player for the club.

Douglas Luiz has made 53 appearances for the Villians this season and contributed with 10 goals and 10 assists.

His contract with Unai Emery’s side will expire in 2026 but Villa are expected to convince him to stay.

The Brazilian’s influence helped his club to finish in the 4th spot of the PL table ahead of Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

The last time the Villians made it to the Champions League was about 40 years ago.

They will receive a huge financial boost for making it to Europe’s most prestigious competition.

However, they are still expected to demand a high fee for the South American star.

Villa will demand £60m for a non-English club and £20m more for an English side.

Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Juventus are closely monitoring Douglas Luiz and it will be interesting to see which team succeeds in landing him this summer.

Juventus are working hard to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners but might look for Luiz if they fail to sign the Dutch star.

Man Utd are also interested in signing several other midfielders like Joao Gomes, Koopmeiners, Joao Neves and Amadou Onana.

Even club legend Roy Keane has urged the Red Devils to go after Villa star Luiz.
