Manchester United are prepared to break the bank to beat Bayern Munich in the race for a world-class centre-back

As reported by Spanish publication Sport, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are expected to go against each other in the race to sign world-class centre-back, Ronald Araujo. The Barcelona defender will be due for an extension last year.

He has stated on multiple occasions that he would like to stay at Barca. However, the club might move the superstar this summer as they look to create funds and bring in the next star

United’s interest in the Uruguayan is also not new. The Red Devils have been after Araujo’s signature for the past two years. This time it seems like they are willing to pull out all stops in order to acquire him.

In fact, it is being reported that Manchester United would go beyond the £67m offer that Bayern Munich are preparing. The Old Trafford squad needs improvements in all departments. However, none are as urgent as their defensive line.

Thanks to injuries Erik ten Hag only had Harry Maguire to play as centre-back during the games against Coventry City, Burnley, and Sheffield United. Thankfully, Casemiro can also play as a defender and has been able to plug the hole.

However, things can’t go on like this, Manchester United needs a world-class defender who sets the standard for all the others. They seem to think Araujo is their man and Araujo is a brilliant player so they’re probably correct.
