Man United Are ‘Confident’ Of Sealing £100M Double Transfer for Premier League Duo

Manchester United are “confident” that they will sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station reports that the Red Devils are hopeful of securing the services of the two players ahead of the official opening of the summer transfer window on June 14th.

Olise has a £60m release clause in his contract so there is no need to negotiate with his club over the transfer fee.

A number of sources have claimed that United have been holding talks with the player’s entourage about making the move to Old Trafford

However, it must be emphasised that there are several other teams involved in the battle for Olise, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool all reportedly interested.

Branthwaite’s price tag has been slashed
While the Red Devils still have plenty of obstacles to overcome to snap up Olise, there are believed to be fewer problems involved in signing Branthwaite.

Up until very recently, it was reported that Everton were holding out for at least £80m for the centre-back but it is now thought that the Toffees could let him leave for just £40m.

Prospective new owners 777 Partners are now unlikely to buy the Merseyside club. The consortium has been plugging gaps in their finances until recently and, without that money, they will need to raise funds quickly.

What are United’s transfer plans for the summer?
Erik ten Hag’s side are not only on the lookout for a new centre-back and winger. Reports suggest that a striker and potentially a midfielder could be recruited.

However, due to restrictions placed on the club by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, some players may need to be sold first in order to fund these purchases.

There could be plenty of comings and goings at United over the next few weeks and months
