Man United among premier league sides keen on signing Real Madrid’s £85m superstar ahead of Mbappe’s arrival

Man United are showing an interest in signing Real Madrid attacker, Rodrygo.

Manchester United fans are entering into the unknown this summer. With new powers-that-be in charge of footballing operations, literally nobody knows what’s going to happen over the next few months.

Money is thought to be tight. The transfer kitty will likely be bolstered by player sales. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is seemingly looking to wipe the slate clean and hit the reset button somewhat.

That isn’t stopping big name-players being linked with a move to Old Trafford, though. Rodrygo is the latest to be thrown into that mix and it comes from Sport.

According to their latest information, United are among the sides interested in signing the 23-year-old Real Madrid man, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City also showing an interest.

The Brazilian has scored thirteen goals in 41 appearances for Los Blancos this season, though Real Madrid could part with their attacker if the right offer comes in. They’d demand a fee in excess of £85m as a possible starting point.

From a United perspective, this already feels like an uphill battle. If Madrid were to sell, you look at the other clubs that are interested, the Reds would probably be Rodrygo’s last choice assuming all firmed up their interest with an official bid.

There’s also no real logic in spending £85m on a player like Rodrygo at this point in time. Money is pretty tight and I’m not even sure he gets into the team ahead of Alejandro Garnacho on a regular basis. He’d also cost a huge amount in terms of weekly wage.

For now at least, this one feels like a long shot
