Liverpool dealt transfer blow as Man United ‘make £51m bid’ for target and prepare second offer
Liverpool could be in line for a busy summer transfer window if the latest reports are to be believed.
June 14 is when the summer window will officially open for Premier Leagues to be able to complete any transfer business. Clubs are able to reach agreements for deals before that date, with players typically set to officially join from July 1.
Arne Slot has been Liverpool’s new head coach for a few days and will be busy looking ahead to his first season in the Anfield dugout after replacing Jurgen Klopp.
Slot will assess his squad during pre-season in July ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign a month later.
With the transfer window likely to dominate headlines over the next few months, Liverpool are already being linked with several potential new signings.
The latest reports concern two defenders who have been credited as possible targets for the Reds this summer.
According to Marca, Manchester United have submitted an offer to sign reported Liverpool target Leny Yoro. The Lille centre-back has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited as potential destinations.
The report claims that Man United have made a bid worth €60 million (£51 million) to try and sign Yoro.
It has not been stated if Lille will accept the offer, but the article does claim that Yoro’s representatives remain in talks with Madrid over a potential move.
