Journalist Claims Man United And Arsenal Are “Interested” In the ‘Next Haaland’ Who Can Be Signed For £64M

Manchester United and Arsenal are two of the teams who are “particularly interested” in recruiting RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

Falk claimed that the Slovenian international has similar characteristics to Erling Haaland and he could be on the move this summer if a team triggers his €75m (£64m) release clause:

“Benjamin Sesko is the hottest Bundesliga stock in England at the moment.

Arsenal FC and Manchester United are particularly interested in the striker. In Leipzig they say: Sesko is physically even stronger than Erling Haaland.”

“Both strikers were trained at Red Bull Salzburg. Like Haaland, Sesko also demanded an exit clause for a move to the Bundesliga. This clause amounted to €50m.

But due to his strong performances and many appearances, the clause has now been increased to €75m for this summer. Arsenal and United now know what they have to put on the table for Sesko.”

The forward‘s representative Elvis Basanovic was spotted in the stands when United played Arsenal last weekend.

Falk believes that it is “part of his [the agent’s] game” to drum up interest in Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window. Whether that means the Red Devils have held direct talks with Basanovic, though, it is not known.

United are in the market for a new No.9

With Anthony Martial leaving the club when his contract expires next month, Rasmus Hojlund will become the only recognised centre-forward in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Easing the burden on the Denmark international will be one of the club’s top priorities and a move for Sesko would make sense, considering his age and the existence of the buyout clause.
