Barcelona will join the race to sign Amadou Onana – but only if Everton drop their £51m asking price.

Like the cash-strapped Toffees, Barcelona have their own financial issues and cannot afford to go beyond £34m as things stand.

But the Spanish giants are monitoring the Senegal international’s situation closely.

Everton will hope to generate an auction for the midfielder this summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea among the clubs to have him on their shortlist.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Amadou Onana is the subject of interest from Barcelona.

The Everton midfielder will cost around €60 million in the summer transfer window. But the reigning La Liga champions are only willing to fork out €40 million to secure his services.
