“Immediately” – £86m star backed to agree Man United move over Arsenal

Manchester United and Arsenal are locked in a battle to hire the services of Joao Neves from Benfica in the summer transfer window.

Journalists in Portugal have backed the play breaker to agree a move to Old Trafford over the Emirates.

Journalists, Luis Aguilar and Mariana Fernandes, firmly believe that Neves should snub a move to Arsenal and sign for Man Utd (via SIC Noticias).

The 19-year-old starlet, who is valued at around £86m, is a defensive midfielder and United have a dire need to sign a top class DM.

Arsenal broke the bank to lure Declan Rice from West Ham United last year and also have a top DM in the form of Thomas Partey.

On the other hand, at Old Trafford, their first choice defensive midfielder, Casemiro, is past his prime and has had a terrible season this term.

Amrabat arrived on loan from Fiorentina last year but his move would not be made permanent.

Therefore, Neves has been backed to sign for Man Utd as Aguilar claims he would fit “more easily” at Manchester United than at Arsenal.

Fernandes agrees and states he will “immediately have a place” in the starting XI at Old Trafford.

It must be taken into consideration that Joao Neves will miss out on Champions League football if he decides to move to Man Utd.
