Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat wants to return to Man United having left the Premier League club this summer upon the expiration of his loan deal.

The midfielder played for Manchester United throughout the 2023–2024 season.

His strong showings at the 2022 World Cup, where Morocco made an unexpected run to the semifinals, probably encouraged Manchester United to sign him.

Throughout his 30 games at Old Trafford, the 27-year-old Moroccan struggled most of the time for Man United.

But, at the end of the season, he turned things around and was instrumental in the Red Devils’ victory over Man City in the FA Cup final.

Nevertheless, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester United team chose to let Amrabat go because they did not want to use the €20 million buyout option in his loan agreement.

The Ligue 1 champions are demanding a €70m transfer fee for the Uruguay star and having seen several offers already turned down, that could lead the Premier League giants back to Amrabat.

Ten Hag has always been a fan of the player so it will be interesting to see if Man United are tempted into bringing the midfielder back to Old Trafford.

It could be a good deal for the Manchester club depending on the transfer fee. Amrabat can be a decent player but is far too inconsistent to be a success in the Premier League at present, which was evident in the 27-year-old’s performances last season
