I would join Man utd on one condition – Man United want £50m West Ham star and could offer Harry Maguire in part exchange after surprise transfer message

Harry Maguire could be used as bait as Manchester United try to sign one of West Ham United’s stars this summer.

West Ham have actually been heavily linked with a move to sign Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire on numerous occasions in the past, most recently just before the January transfer window opened.

Hammers boss David Moyes is clearly a huge fan of Maguire, 31. I actually think he’d suit our setup perfectly.

The Manchester United man thrives when playing in a deep backline – just look how good he was at Leicester – but he struggles when playing for a team who push high up the pitch.

Manchester United want West Ham star and could offer Harry Maguire in exchange

According to a report from the Express, the England international defender could be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford beyond the end of this season.

And Man United apparently could offer him to West Ham as bait as they try to snare one of our very best players.

The Express claim that the 20-time English league champions are ready to compete with Manchester City to sign Lucas Paqueta in the summer.

The Brazilian was signed by Moyes from Lyon for £50 million in the summer of 2022 (Goal), and he has gone on to establish himself as a huge fan favourite at the London Stadium.

However, he was heavily linked with a move to join Man City in the summer of 2023 – a transfer that was scuppered due to the ongoing investigation into potential betting breaches from the 26-year-old.

Listen, I would not be shocked one little bit if Paqueta leaves us in the summer transfer window. He is an exceptional player who has the ability to go and win the very biggest trophies.

However, I would be fairly surprised if he decides to join the Red Devils rather than Manchester City. And what’s more, I’m not sure that West Ham should be signing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire in the summer

That’s not to say that I don’t think he’d do well for us, but I just feel like that ship has sailed. He has rejected the chance to join us before, so we really shouldn’t be chasing him now.
