Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be willing to splash out £140million to sign England players Marc Guehi and Ivan Toney for Manchester United – according to reports.
Investment from the INEOS founder is thought to be close to completion with Ratcliffe expected to buy a 25 per cent share in the Premier League giants.
The 71-year-old will be involved in footballing operations as the club look towards the January transfer window.
United paid £183million combined for Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund this summer. However, as per these latest reports, they could also spend big when the market reopens.
An article from The Daily Mail claims Ratcliffe wants to change the transfer policy currently in place at United to create a greater emphasis on bringing in home-grown players. Crystal Palace defender Guehi and Brentford striker Toney are flagged up as two potential targets for him.
However, there would seemingly be a premium on them and United might have to pay £140million to sign the two England internationals.
Arsenal have also been constantly linked with Guehi and Toney, with Chelsea also said to be interested in signing Toney with his worldwide ban now close to completion.
Elsewhere, reports from Team Talk suggest Italian side Juventus are keen on signing Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho from United when the market reopens.
Both players face an uncertain future at Old Trafford and the former was made available for transfer this summer.
A move failed to materialise for van de Beek and he has totted-up just 21 minutes this season. Sancho, meanwhile, continues to be frozen out following his public spat with United manager Erik ten Hag, with the England man still banished from all first-team facilities at their Carrington training ground.
