GOOD NEWS: Alvin Kamara, New Orleans saints running back, has won the prestigious Jim Finks Award for Excellence and Exceptional Contribution to the
The award, which is presented in honor of the New Orleans Saints’ late general manager, recognizes a player for his cooperation with reporters in doing their jobs throughout the course of the season.
Kamara won the award and joins former Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins as only the second back-to-back recipient of the award.
More than two dozen media members who regularly cover the team vote for the Jim Finks Media Appreciation Award.
WDSU sports anchors Fletcher Mackel and Sharief Ishaq are all voters.
A third-round draft pick in 2017 from the University of Tennessee, Kamara has made the NFL Pro-Bowl team in each of his first five seasons.
