Favorites Man Utd now negotiate terms to secure signing of £42.7million star

Manchester United have been strongly linked with Matthijs de Ligt, who could leave Bayern Munich this summer.

We highlighted a news from the FT two days ago that claimed the Red Devils are favorites and ready to sign the Dutch international from Bayern Munich.

According to rumors in Italy, Manchester United are now dominating the fight to sign De Ligt.

According to Tutto Juve, Manchester United is in pole position to sign the former Bianconeri center half from the German champions.

According to the news source, the Red Devils are negotiating terms with the player’s representatives, who will cost roughly £42.7 million (50 million euros).

Bayern paid £65.6 million in 2022 to acquire De Ligt from the Old Lady. So, £42.7 million should be regarded as a great bargain for a player who has yet to reach his prime.

According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester United are seriously contemplating signing the Netherlands international to replace Raphael Varane at Old Trafford.

The retiring French star will be 31 this year; he is past his prime and has been extremely unreliable for the 20-time English winners.

De Ligt was named the Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2019 and has previously won league titles in Holland, Italy, and Germany.
