Erik ten Hag ‘has lost half the dressing room’ with Man United stars fed up with his management style as he brings injured star ‘to support him’

Erik ten Hag has reportedly ‘lost 50% of the dressing room’ with Manchester United stars questioning his ‘robotic’ management style.

United are enduring a woeful season having lost 10 of their 21 games so far, results that have left them seventh in the Premier League, while their Champions League hopes hang by a thread.

Their last game – a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday – was perhaps their worst of the season, with the players’ performances receiving scathing criticism.

But Ten Hag is now taking a lot of flack as well, with his tactics and management style coming under a lot of scrutiny, in part due to the off-pitch drama involving Jadon Sancho.

Up until this point however, almost all of United’s squad have backed their boss, but reports of fall outs between the manager and certain players has started to grow in recent weeks, with Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial the most high-profile cases.

Now, Sky Sports report that around half of the squad have had enough with the Dutchman and are fed up with his training ground methods and tactics, though no names were given.

They say: ‘Some of the players are confused about what is happening and he [Ten Hag] has lost elements of the dressing room. About 50% of the dressing room.

‘Quite a few players are unhappy with the style of play. They feel they are training too hard and they are running too much during training. Players don’t know what they’re running for.

‘A few players think he’s too set in his ways, he’s too robotic. And quite a few players are unhappy with the way Jadon Sancho has been treated and feel it’s gone too far.’

Sancho has not played since his public fallout with Ten Hag in September when he hit back at the manager’s claims that the winger wasn’t training well enough to be selected.

The England international has refused to apologise and has been frozen out of the first-team squad, is not allowed to eat with senior players and forced to train with the youth teams.

‘Senior players have spoken to Ten Hag about where they feel the club is going wrong,’ the report added

‘They’ve spoken to him about their experiences of playing at other big clubs. They maybe feel that he should be a little more touchy, feely. His man management could be a little bit better. However, he is not for turning.’
