Joe Hugill loan exit despite new deal, with club emerging as frontrunners

Manchester United academy forward Joe Hugill looks set for a loan move away from Old Trafford, according to reports.

Joe Hugill impressed for Manchester United during the preseason tour of America in the off-season with the young forward netting against Leeds United.

Erik ten Hag was also impressed with Hugill’s performance and goal after the game against the Yorkshire outfit when he said:

“They’re coming in and it’s a big moment when you are coming up in the squad, in the first team. You deserve game time because over long years you work for it.”

Despite this, it now looks like Hugill, even after just signing a new deal with the Red Devils, will be going out on loan to EFL League One

Hugill loan details
According to a report from Alan Nixon, writing on his Patreon, the English forward will be heading to League One side Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.

Some sides were interested in Hugill who were in the upper echelons of EFL football but the Red Devils wanted the striker to get experience lower down the footballing pyramid as it is more likely he will start regularly for the Brewers as opposed to moving to a side in the Championship.

Hugill was included in the squad for United’s win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup but did not see a minute of the pitch for the Red Devils and will now ply his trade in the third-tier of English football
