Cristiano Ronaldo makes special transfer request as he wants club to sign £60m Man United star

Al-Nassr are keen on bringing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro to the Saudi Pro League at the behest of Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.

Manchester United brought Casemiro into the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 and the Brazilian midfielder was arguably the most transformative signing in Erik ten Hag’s first season at the helm.

The Brazilian netted the opening goal against Newcastle United in a 2-0 win for Ten Hag’s men against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final and was truly becoming one of the leaders in the team.

However, this season, it has been a different story for the 31-year-old as a myriad of injury problems and poor form has meant Kobbie Mainoo, who is just 18 years of age, is now the starting defensive midfielder for the Red Devils and has impressed.

Now, according to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Al-Nassr are exploring the transfer market as they bid to add more high-profile names to their squad and one of these options is reportedly Casemiro.

The report states that, at the behest of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian could well be on his way to the Middle East to link up with his former Real Madrid and United teammate.

Ronaldo and Casemiro played together briefly before the Portuguese forward saw his contract with the Red Devils terminated after an explosive, tell-all, interview with Piers Morgan.

Casemiro’s future at the club is certainly up in the air with the player having been previously linked with a move away from the club as the Red Devils embark on yet another rebuild.

Ten Hag’s big call
It seems as we approach the summer transfer window if Ten Hag remains at Old Trafford, then he will have a big decision over the future of the midfielder that the club spent £60 million on.

There are pros and cons to the idea of losing Casemiro but ultimately the midfielder’s experience and know-how when it comes to winning trophies is vital for a team that is severely lacking leaders.

With Raphael Varane’s future at the club also uncertain, losing two leaders, who make up the spine of your team, would be a big blow and would need to be replaced
